I phoned Poole Audi to enquire if my car needed 'seeing to' ref the seats, as I'd seen it as required in MyAudi. They kindly advised me I needed the seats and the braking upgrade - as above - and would I like to book it in (I didn't buy the car from them but they have never been less than helpful to me in recent years.

I have had the brakes applied by Audi Presense on a couple of occasions, when there was no reason for the brakes to be applied and suspect it was caused by a curve in the road and a pedestrian, so I'll ask why the upgrade is necessary when I take it in.

If there is a Safety Concern resulting in a Product Enhancement being released, Audi would write directly to customers of affected vehicles, to advise them. The Product Enhancement regarding the seats has only very recently been released, so it may be that Audi are in the process of collating customers details to make contact."

Maybe we are just jumping the gun....

This is the thankless stuff comes as no surprise from Brand Audi, they are quick to fire of marketing and sales emails and don't mind being inundated with, however there is no Magical Policy that mandates that audi send alerts it customers on database with such issues. This is because there is no accountability to anyone in the in end. I guess there get out here is the alert is in MYAUDI, but how often to people log in there. may be it SHOULD be fed straight to the MMI or something, considering they are connected. Also not sure why some folk get letters and other don't

Anyone see this changing with Audi?? :-0

I'm yet to here from My delears

I'm going to setup a separate campaign thread but the control unit for brakes / abs is under Campaign code 45E7.

    Issue below:

"On Audi Q7 vehicles manufactured within a specific period, a software error in the ESC control unit may cause residual pressure in the brake system during a particular operating mode (ACC). The pressure is dissipated when the ignition is switched off.

    Remedy

A software update of the ESC control unit must be carried out on the vehicles affected"

I don't know yet how many cars this affects. Remember not every car is affected by every update audi release.

    Hope it helps.

So this reference the same issue as the presense that kicks in when on certain manoeuvres (reversing in my case) when there are no objects that should trigger it in anyway then andy

Honestly Satyp, I dont know. From what I've read its something to do with pressure in the brake lines when Adaptive Cruise Control is on. I dont know much more than that yet, but I'll do some more digging when time allows

And this the sort of courtesy car they loan you when you take it in; all Q7 owners should ask their dealer for an R8 as a loaner and settle for the TT as a compromise (although if you get an R8, congrats)
