I am looking to fit an Audi Concert system to my 1999 A6, as it had no radio when I bought it. I have the original sub and 6 disc changer in the boot, and would like to utilize these again. Are newer radios can-bus? Would these work? Do they need modifications to fit/work? Anyone selling a reasonably priced radio that would fit the bill, let me know.

ok, an update on this, I found a period Audi Concert tape player on Gumtree for £20, asked the guy if he could post it to me. When it came, there was no display when I plugged it in, but I could hear the CD changer in the boot searching for CD's, so there had to be something basic wrong with it, as the guy said it was working when removed from his car.
A quick inspection showed the face was a little bit forward of the main part of the radio. The 90deg brackets at the side were a little bit out of shape, so I guess the guy had some trouble removing it and he had actually pulled so hard that it disconnected the front connector from the mainboard of the unit. Some disassembly and bending brackets later, and I got the SAFE display showing, put the code in and it was working.
My only slight niggle is that I cannot get it to fit flush and I cannot shut the cover plate to hide it. I maybe need to invest in one of those USB mini cameras to see what is going on behind the dash.
