What is everyone's experience with android auto like in the Q7?

I only took delivery of mine yesterday, so only just starting to play, but haven't been that impressed with android auto. It only shows Spotify and tune in radio for playing music, and the sound quality with Spotify isn't that great (using Spotify in offline mode with the download in high quality, I also have the Bose upgrade).

Also it won't let me browse all the offline albums, tells me I need to be parked if I want to scroll through all of the albums, only showing the first few.

I was also hoping to play the music stored on the phone (Sony xperia z3). The music is stored in a raw uncompressed format for decent quality. The interface isn't showing a playing for music stored on the phone (on the sd card in the phone)

Hi Lee, I have a good write up on here under the thread "smartphone interface. I have had both android and iPhone and for me iPhone CarPlay is better.

Cheers. I remember reading that now. I am not that impressed, the ability to browse all music on the phone is pretty basic.

I have played around with connecting via the WiFi, and that allows proper browsing, but because I don't have a second SIM in the car and I haven't paid the extortionate rates to add data browsing to the built in SIM it effectively renders the phone useless because it always wants to use the car wifi for data traffic (and you just get redirected to the site to buy a data plan).

I am currently copying a load of music onto a USB key to see how that functions.

I can recommend the IPhone route with Apple Music subscription. Kids love the fact you can use the voice control to get Siri to play pretty much anything they can think of.
