    HI All

I have had this happen twice now. Anyone else?

Whilst driving in normal conditions a message popped up on the centre display Auto start stop deactivated please restart engine.

Now this was a tad disconcerting as once on a roundabout and the other whilst travelling at 50 mph. All engine power stopped, but power steering still on but nothing when accelerating. The only solution was to pull over and restart.

Clearly not great. It is booked in for a diagnostic check but wondering of this has happened to anyone else and what was the issue to resolve it?

    3.0 TDI 272bhp auto.

For an A7 this is unacceptable. I have heard about gearbox malfunction but never this one. Please let us know about diagnostic result. If Audi garage will not help (which is very likely) try with independent garage.

Thanks. Its only a year old so i am hoping (insisting) Audi will sort it out under warranty. Booked in.

Glad it hasn't happened whilst i was in lane 3 of a motorway. That would be uncomfortably entertaining!!

Car in at the dealers. They need it for a couple of extra days as the technician is apparently concerned about the software??

I see the post re gearbox issue and new circuit board.

I will update when i hear back from the dealer........

Not good that they are concerned! If it's software surely an update would sort it!?!?

    Fingers crossed for you

Well it's been a week now. Couldn't fix it as the software was apparently corrupted.
Update today, new circuit board needed.
Really poor updates, had to call them all week rather than being updated.
I have a courtesy car though, but a bit concerned about the issue. Still waiting.......

All back from the garage. New amp and software update installed. Couldn't find the issue with stop/start.

not overly reassured by that, so will have to see if it happens again. Hopefully not!
