I can tell this topic has been covered a thousand times, but many are out of date and have dead links now.

How do people overcome the peeling button issue, without spending 100's on replacement units? Currently, my ESP switch has a big peel, the OFF switch on the climate is very bad, the window switches are bad. Pretty much the whole lot is bad

I've seen a lot of fake aftermarket switches for cheap that I can order, I'm wondering if they've used a cheap plastic without the rubber, it might actually be more long-lasting than these awful rubbery switches.

    Thoughts?

Funnily enough, the only two that aren't suffering from peeling are the cup holder and tray. That said I'll have a look if they do the other ones. I've noticed these guys are knocking out something very similar:

Audi A4 B6 8E CLIMATE HEATER CONTROL peeling worn buttons button knob repair | eBay

But I just wasn't all that convinced by the quality.

    Certainly these:

    Audi A4 8E B6 B7 Air conditioning Control unit/Climate Buttons Restaurations Set | eBay

From the same guys you linked, seem a lot better quality (just visually at least), so I might plump a twenty and go for that. Were you required to acetone the rest of the rubber off with yours, because apparently the ones I linked above expect you too, which I always think is a bit of a risk in itself?

    Cheers

Could you post back when you've done it?

i did this with my CD player and some other buttons. Didn't look quite as good as original, but pretty good. Bought vinyl stickers from some guy from Portugal on eBay. I acetoned it with cotton swabs and removed any flakes, but didn't remove all of the original cover. Good luck!
