Does anyone know if this procedure will work in an A6

It looks as though some bright spark has created an app which downloads the latest speed camera database from pocketgpsworld (subscription required) and the creates the correct filestructure on an SD card for it to be imported into an MMI

Had a look at the my audi app , only have "my destinations" - no "special destinations" so guessing it can't be done ? (Have mmi touch, sim in dash etc)

Think this will only work with the mmi plus on the facelift as it's the same unit as the Audi A3 8v.
Whether it works or not it's gonna be pretty useless as there's no functionality on the mmi to like warn you let's say 500m before a camera so unless you stare at your screen the whole time then it's useless. Better using that concentration on the road and see if there's a camera ahead.

It works on the MMI Plus, but there's no audible warning, Just whatever icon you set when uploading. The real annoying thing is that it will only work when standard maps are selected, so no Google Earth and POI's together.

Yes it works and in fact you can upload any POI's to your MyAudi account, it transposes the file into "Audispeak". Then you download it onto your PC, drop it onto an SD card, pop that in the car and upload the new POI's.. painless really.
The standard Audi ones are fairly minimal. I downloaded a load of the free POI's from that site, much more upto date on even basics like fuel station locations than the Audi ones.

As previously said, it wont alert you to the camera's, but its a decent gimmick anyway

yes it does warn you set the maps to warn when approaching destination then go down the list check my special destination then tick each of the items in you speed camera list i.e. specs gatso pmobile and mobile
choose audible and visual warning the sat nav will then warn and display when you ae approaching you can not change the warning sound it is just a chime and you can not change the distance this is speed dependant
and yes it works on Google Maps too whether you are navigating or just using the map as a screen saver
