It appears I get confused easily.

Our Q7 has the AAS which comes with a button in the boot that allows the boot to be lowered to get things in and our easier (for us it is good for the dogs to be able to jump in the boot). Sometimes this button works, sometimes it does not, I can't seem to find a common reason for either.

I noticed it doesn't work at all in Off-Road Mode. Sometimes it needs the ignition on, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it won't work with the doors open, sometimes it does.

Does anyone know what the criteria is? Even better, can it be coded to work all the time?

Hi Mica, sounds about right...what I've read is that no doors should be open to get it to work...well apart from the boot obviously.

Also doesn't need ignition on etc

I've also found sometimes on pressing the button it doesn't lower and sometimes it does - I think you need to press and hold for a second and then it lowers no issues.

Re off-road mode - haven't tried it in that mode so can't comment on that bit

I think whether you need the ignition on depends on whether there is pressure in the system (my limited understanding!)

If you've just stopped I find it always works but is hit and miss if the car has been parked a while.

So yesterday I picked up a nail in my tyre but luckily enough a repair was all that was needed and the good guys (well I hope they were good) at Kwik Fit sorted its

Anyway afterwards I was just playing with the air suspension and learnt something new but I'm sure it was just me . Put the car in off-road and decided to step out of the car to watch it, never realised the car actually moves a little as it raises / lowers. Did freak me out for a second as I thought the handbrake/parking brake was off

And yes this is how dirty the car will be next week...

I don't know why it moves a little must be to do with the camber or angle of the shocks
if you sit with foot hard on the foot pedel then say change setting to off road and wait till car is fully raised then take ya foot off the breaks the car jilts to allow the wheel footprint to move if you do the same with just the hand break on it don't do this as only the back wheels are locked allowing the front wheels to move

like above for raise lower of boot some times have to press button a second time
ignition don't have to be switch on to lower the boot as long as all door are shut tail gate is open

the only time you need ignition on is the adjust the air suspension from inside the car i.e. Going from dynamic to off road or auto etc
just lowering the boot no ignition needed
