Admittedly, I went for the looks and it didn't work out quite right. But the sound is GOOD.

I like nbedford's idea if that would work? Can you replace any of the speakers with Bose without using the Bose Amp I wonder???

I did think about that admitedly. But it's much more complicated sadly.
    Here is some proof...
That's bose speaker and a woofer box that goes with it into the door

    Screenshot_2016-09-07-21-05-58.jpg
And that's what I found behind my door trim:

So. To reiterate.... As I always say to my customers : "everything is possible" but it is just the matter of time money and effort.
In my case I'm just going to live with it. :/ just too much hassle to swap it all

    Thanks for posting.

I too went for the stock setup. I looked at the sub and have toyed with the idea of changing the driver, either better quality 6 inch or shallow mount 8 inch. Not sure if the volume of the box is right for an 8 inch.
Was wondering if it needed a separate amp to get anything decent from it, the stock one is ok if you crank the volume up, so thought a better sub would need a bit more to drive it. How much difference has it made on yours just swapping tye driver?

i too am thinking about an upgrade to all the speakers.

Also does anyone know where the stock amp is? The bose I think is in the trunk, but I cannot track down the standard setup amp.

The standard amp is built in the infotainment system, which houses the card reader (J794 Control unit 1 for information electronics) as well. The speakers are connected to this unit on the T8z connector (brown) at the back of the unit. This unit drives the front and left speakers. The treble and bass (door) speakers are connected parallel. Looks like the treble high pass filter is just a capacitor. Also this unit drives the center speaker and subwoofer as well (T8i connector black).

do you know what diameter that door speaker is. It appears the flange is all part of the speaker?

    thanks

    Hi.
Here is the diameter in the foto

Also, it is not your standard speaker! I am not sure what you mean by the flange but this particular speaker in the door comes welded into its housing! And only the housing gets mounted onto the door. A very custom way of doing things.
I bet it's the same for the back door too.
If you need I have a front/back door dismounting manual. All of the trim is held by three screws :O

Thanks for the size. Manual for trim removal would be great.
