​I have had an occasional misfire for 6 months (since I bought the car!) .. sometimes not for a week of two, sometimes twice a day - it lasts up to 30/40 mins or engine off and then usually re-start it is okay. It sounds quite deep and I notice the sound before the misfire.. if I try and hold the revs it bounces around quite a lot and sounds like a car you wouldnt buy..
There are no codes coming up and no warnings. I had a new injection wiring loom fitted, new fuel filter and recent full service.. but there seems no pattern to it.. although I have never had it from a cold start first off... any ideas pls?? - sorry if i have missed a thread on here.. it's shame as this is my 2nd audi the first 1.8t managed 175k near prob free, and I replaced with this which I nearly about to get rid of as this prob just keeps popping up.. this had 88k on it.. and it has now 106k and the misfire just comes and goes and VW specialists dont know... they changed the loom as it 'could be' but didnt fix it.. seems to be getting more frequent. I have recently had a new rocker cover fitted (as it started to smoke and there was an oil pressure prob) - smoke now fixed. It didnt start a few times the other day - and no sound from the fuel tank pump, then was okay again later.. but other than that never had a problem... cheers
