I always find in situations like these that twitter gets results. Start posting negative but accurate comments with Audi UK tagged and you'll soon get results.

I've just done the same with BT about a long term fibre broadband issue and started mentioning Ofcom. Hey presto they've identified a fault in the exchange which will be fixed by next Monday - a fault that started last December

I agree in part. Great cars except they have the absolute worst interface firmware & software of all the premium brands. The MMI is so badly executed and so poorly updated for the owners that it always feels like an afterthought from Audi. Even the Audi smartphone Apps available to use with the latest MMI are like something from a 16 year old spotty youth from Bulgaria developed in his bedroom.. Seriously, they have some of the lowest user ratings Ive ever seen. The webpage interface if you tire of the awful app, was sadly also developed by said spotty youth as well...
There is better thought out tech, always updated FREE and with superior functionality in a £300 smartphone than a £2700 top of the line Audi Tech Pack..

    Hi guys,

Just to confirm what LFSimon said, I visited my local Audi dealership yesterday and they confirmed that there is an issue with the current software, there will be an update coming but it's not available yet.

They have logged my vehicle against it and will contact me as soon as it arrives....No confirmed timescale yet.

Update:..... Had a call from service manager of local Audi dealer last Thursday, he had been contacted by Audi UK CS. He seemed to know about the issue of the MMI and suggested he would speak to one of their master technicians to understand latest with software update, he also understood that a temporary manual coding arrangement could be a stop gap. Promised to call back on Friday with update, but guess what - now Tuesday and nothing! This issue might seem a low priority for Audi, but the way in which they are dealing with it has made my mind up that my current Audi will be my last!

    Hi Everyone,

My car was delivered last week and I can confirm I have worked out the VCDS coding required for the folding mirrors and selective lock/unlock.

For confirmation I have a brand new MY17 BE 2.0TDI Quattro and both options were missing from the menu in the MMI.

The manual coding required to enable these until a software update on the MMI is available is as follows:

Open Controller 46 - Central Conv

    Select 'Adaptation'

Select 'Personalization Key *' - Choose your current key. Mine was Key 1 at the time of testing.

Subtract -1 from the current coding to remove selective locking and open all doors on a single press of the remote.

Add +16384 to the current coding to enable folding mirrors on lock.

I have tested this on my own car and can confirm both features are now working! :-)

    I hope this helps others.

Thanks for the guidance/instructions on the use of VCD's to manually programme the folding mirror operation. Must be honest, like most on here that have spent very good money buying a premium brand car, I don't believe we as owners should be having to undertake such modifications to make things work as a result of an issue the manufacturer is aware of.... I really wish this forum was visible to Audi UK/Germany Customer Services.

Why would the forum not be visible to them?

I'm not convinced Audi see this, the issue has been going for ages and there are many disgruntled owners on here.. If they can see this and have read the comments either the issue is taking a long time to remedy or they don't care....

Just picked up my new BE today and mentioned this to the dealer.

Their head technican came out and said he was aware of the hardcoding and had done it last week - did mine there and then, only took 10 mins and works really well now.
