Leon 1.9 tdi 100 Cranks but wont start, glowplug light works

friends car broke down whilst he was driving it, cut out and wouldn't start again, there is no fault codes, the glowplug light goes on and off no problem, tried turning the engine over and it doesn't even try to start, when i turn the engine over i can see the rpm rise and fall on autocom, checked the immobiliser status and it isnt armed, the engine is receiving the signal to start but doesn't,

when the ignition is turned on i dont hear the priming pump from the tank (has 2 wire going in behind drivers seat, does it have 1?), the fuel shutoff solenoid clicks, when i turn over the engine but the diesel doesn't seem to be moving (can see it through pipe after fuel filter), bled the injectors and they all have fuel in at them, was thinking relay 109 but my glowplug light comes on and goes off, battery voltage is ok

anyone got any ideas?

Anyone lol, anyways, tried replacing relay 109 - didnt make a diffrence, checked all the fuses on the side panel driverside - all ok, found a blown fuse above relay 109 behind the dash replaced - no diffrence, if i spray a small amount of brake cleaner in the engine will run for a few seconds then shuts down, and will then try to start a few times on diesel but doesnt

any ideas?
