Morning all. The valve block that diverts the air from the pump to the relevant suspension bag or releases air, think its caled the control valve, has failed. I can find any number on ebay with the part number 4E0616o13, but I am told that my car requires part number 4F0616013. I can only find one of these and it is three times the price of any others......does anybody know for sure if it matters? How much difference can there be? Help please!

How do you know it has failed? Have you ran VCDS and what diagnostic codes did it come up with? The valve block seldom fails. Suspension not rising and YELLOW car on dash warning means the compressor has cut out after 2 mins to prevent overheating. Are you getting this symptom? Does the compressor run and/or sound noisey? If so, problem is more likely a tired compressor - repair kits are available for buttons. It could also be an airbag failure - if left on level 1, has it sagged on one or more corners overnight?
OR, it coud imdeed be the valve block has failed, but I would check out the above first if you have not already done so.

HI and thanks for getting back to me so fast. Yes have run VCDS and its clear, the suspension rises at the rear, there are no leaks, the compressor is neither loud or rattly (it has recentlybeen replaced) and i can inflate each airbag with a workshop compressor. Its the valve, everything else has been eliminated. Since writing the thread and doing alot of digging though, I have found that the 4f prefix is simpply that, a different prefix. and that the part is the same. :-)

    4E0 616 o13 would be 4E0 616 013 but that doesn't exist. The valve was originally 4Z7 616 013 but has changed to 4F0 616 013.

According to parts manual, yours is 4F0616013. There are lots on eBay from £129 up. Rebuild from Audi will cost £274.
I would also check the wiring (see quattroworld.com Forums: allroad) from the valve block to the control unit in the boot. The valves are shut if there is no current to them. Could just be the wiring to the N148 and N149 is damaged. Probably long shot but worth checking before you spend!

Is the car sunk down low at the front?, its not common for the valve block to fail, but the valves can stick which prevents the car lifting or lowering on one corner,

    what are the fault codes?

    best regards

    Andy

4R0616014 is what I meant to put. My original part number was 4z7 as you say, and now the part number is 4f. However, is there actually any difference other than the mounting kit?

It is just a solenoid valve, it can be used on both but they don't often go wrong, usually it is wiring damage at the plug.
