    Hi Stephen,
" Just general description Audi a6 door lock , I took my old one apart and could see nothing worn or loose or damaged" That's really strange........nothing visibly wrong, yet when replaced, new lock works perfectly. If it was somehow connected to the electrics, we could blame that, but its just a mechanical part.. could also be micro wear through out the lock rather than one or two obviously worn parts of the mechanism. Anyway...I have the same problem on the drivers door, slight pressure only to lock it, anything heavier ... and it just bounces. I tried inserting a screw driver into it, mimicking the action of the striker receiver, and with the screw driver, it works perfectly, 1st stage on safety, and 2nd stage locking. And I would guess that the rear door locks are different,,,, would be to good to be true to have them interchangeable !!!!!! Anyway, I will remove the trim panel and have look at what's happening, but I will have a replacement on hand at this point.
    Thanks for your help Stephen
