    Hi

    I have a 2002 Polo 1.4 16v with the following issues:

Randomly when starting the car from cold or hot the clock & mileage trip will reset to zero. This has happened 4 times in 3 months, cant see any common feature when it happens. I then update the clock and can drive the car starting it for days & weeks with no issue. Is there a bad connection with the ignition or in the instrument cluster? Has anyone had a similar fault?

    Any ideas would be welcome

    Cheers

    Dan

Battery on the way out, or corroded ground connection.

Thanks. Battery is a month old but I'll check voltage. If its a corroded ground connection is that near the battery?

Follow the ground terminal from battery to chassis.

    Hi

Picking up on the previous thread, the car now will not start. Drove fine yesterday, got in this morning, turned the key and no lights on the dash at all. Engine turns over but wont catch. Battery is fine, showing 12.2 V.

    Any thoughts?
