Whilst I can't wait to get my hands on the new car... as we write its on its way to the dealer. I am regretting not ticking the camera option...

So flashback Audi messed up the order and the car got delayed by a month so they tried to make up by giving me a courtesy car which has rear camera which mrs. finds very useful but at the time of placing the order we thought its nice to have and not a must have. Has anyone got the rear parking camera fitted post delivery and if its worth the effort & expense.

Your looking the best part of £800 for bits before even fitting by the looks of things.. (control unit/ camera/ new boot lift switch etc)

Your better off looking for a 3rd party camera (auction sites) and see if that can be plumbed into the MMI via an AUX input. Probably cheaper and easier.

You can get installed an original one for around £400, google "Audi Q7 rear camera".

You need a camera (around £80 second hand on ebay), wiring loom which takes the signal back and coding by Dealer or someone with the right software.

I was looking into this as the option in Hungary to add to this to the car is around £1200 (comes with other option, thus the expense). I am not prepared to pay that much as I do not want the other option just the camera.

Does anyone have the instructions for the fitting?
I have the camera but I'm experienced some flickering problems with it so I would like to know how it all fits together. I'm concerned if I take it to the dealership that they would need to take the car apart to get at the wiring. Thanks in advance...

I searched online and found this workshop in London who specialise in retrofitting various things http://vagtec.co.uk/eshop/audi/q7/4m...udi-q7-4m.html. Its £636 inclusive of fitting not sure if its a deal ....
