It may be a software bug because. You activated a part of software that was not created to work on your car and this why it may have several bugs. And, this bugs will not be ever solved... And one more reason for you to understand your problem: your car doesn't have electrical steering wheel, it doesn't have memory for seats, doesn't have full setup buttons for front seats.....so it doesn't many hardware parts missing. Maybe this hardware missing parts represent software bug in some circumstances.
For example, soft close function. This software has some bugs that allow door computers to 'sleep' in some special circumstances. Even after last software update the system is not 100% properly work. Still is a software bug unsolved.

    Hope you got it...

    Hi all,

Is there anybody in or around Birmingham that could do a bit of coding on my Q7 4M?

I don’t expect it for free and am willing to pay.

Things I’d like done, if possible, are :-

    Needle sweep on startup (VC).
    Lock car with engine running.
    Energy consumers.
    Taillight LED with DRL’s.
    Boot close with keyfob.
    Video in motion.

I’m sure there are more, but these are the ones I can think of now.

    Cheers

I’m not sure you can have the closing of the boot lid from the remote if you don’t have the advanced remote.

Ok thanks buddy, I don’t have the advanced remote.

Shame, my A7 didn’t have the advanced remote and I’m sure it was possible on that.

    Appreciate the response.

That’s a really kind offer mate, thanks very much.

How much does the service cost?

    I’m free 15th / 16th February if you are?

    Hi.

I made an account and got one e-mail banned at registration because why not?

Andy - Hi, thanks for the information regarding evo platform or q7 4M. Most of my codings are done for MQB, PQ vw, skoda, seat. So yesterday i wanted to look at what people have done to their Q7's. I red all 61 pages in this topic and i got everything working what was needed.

    Remote open/close tailgate.
    chrips, beeps, tuuts.
    DLR option to MMi
    ACC options to MMi
    etc.

And now the thing that I wanted to talk about.

Enable Easy Entry for Drivers Seat

Description: By Default Q7 (4M) cars that have the electric steering column option, the drivers seat will move back automatically when the car is turned off and the drivers door is opened to allow easy exit of the vehicle. In addition, when unlocking the car and opening the drivers door the drivers seat will move back to allow easy entry and upon starting the car the seat will move forward back to the last position. If you have Convenience/Advanced Key and Driver Memory seats then when you start the car the seat will move to whatever memory recall is stored on the key used to unlock the car (linked with button 1 or 2 of the driver memory seat buttons in the door trim). This change enables this feature when the electric steering column is not installed.
Notes: This has not been tested on a Q7 4M without driver memory seat buttons, but it should work. Also, you may find the Easy Entry option "greyed out" in the mmi. If so, lock the car, wait 30 seconds then unlock and try the menu option again.
Usage: Once configured get out at lock the car and wait 30 seconds, go back into car and start electrics, you should see Easy Entry option under "Vehicle Settings / Seats / Drivers Seat". Make sure its ticked.
    Risk: Low.

    Coding:

    1. Module 09 Central Electrics
    2. Coding
    3. Long Coding
    4. Long Coding Helper
    5. Byte 14
    6. Tick Bit 2 (easy_entry_steering_column_via_mmi_configurable,a ctive)
    7. Exit
    8. Do It

    Coding:

    1. Module 36 Seat Memory Driver
    2. Coding
    3. Long Coding
    4. Long Coding Helper
    5. Byte 3
    6. Tick Bit 6 (Easy_Entry_front,0=not active / 1=active)
    7. Exit
    8. Do It

    _______________________

This is not all that is needed.
    What I found yesterday...

You need to enable 4-5 adaptions in MMI to get the seat to move back. Oh and the car I worked on did not have memory buttons on the door but seat modules were accessible (Using Hex-Net).

So the 2 codings in 09 and 36 are correct. What you could try, siis to enable adaptions:

    5F

    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration
    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_after_disclaimer
    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_clamp_15_off
    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_over_threshold_hig h
    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_standstill

Activate all, reboot MMi. tick entry assist. Enjoy

I think that After disclaimer and Standstill is not needed, but i haven't had my time with the car to test it.

    BR,

    S.

Thanks Sander, appreciate you sharing this info

You are more than likely right, but in the UK its all enabled as standard which is why I dont think we picked up on these extra adaptation channel changes

At the most though you should only need to active these 2:

    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration
    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_over_threshold_hig h

    Not the other 3.

    Thanks for sharing

Anybody I would highly appreciate if you would share the coding for the front door modules, driver and passenger in order to have memory side view mirrors?
I guess it should be a bit on each control unit.
