    Hi
I am currently dealing with a suspected intermittent ignition fault which results in failure to start very infrequently. I am having great difficulty in acquiring the circuit diagrams for the engine systems eg ignition, fuel pump, engine management etc. I have an Emanual which is an Audi original but this only contains "current flow diagrams" which are basically chassis electrics only and not relevant. I cannot get anywhere with the diagnosis without said circuits and also component location information eg relays, lhs & rhs footwell connector panel mappings so that I can trace through the relevant circuitry. I suspect water corrosion of connectors is the root of it but which ones to look at?

Can anyone suggest a complete and comprehensive source for this information please?

Many Thanks for anything at all!

If you want to splash out on a pretty comprehensive manual, get the Bentley Audi A4 Service Manual, 1996 to 2001 1.8T and 2.8, published by www.bentleypublishers.com .
It covers US models, which are pretty much the same as European, and has masses electrical circuit daigrams. Service instructions are not as detailed as Haynes' manual, but more comprehensive.
I got my hard cover copy on Amazon UK for £42.20, and also the Haynes manual for 1p !

Thanks for your suggestion I will follow up the Bentley offering. I was aware of it but sceptical about its coverage and applicability. I already have the Haynes 1.8/2.8 you mention and this is no where near comprehensive enough. I think it likely that only the VAG original circuits will do the job and these may well be embedded in a diagnostic software suite. If so its end game! I also have the O/L EManual people promising to attempt to source the circuits. We shall see. Many thanks for your help.

Just realised you have the 2.4 (V6?) engine, which doesn't seem to be covered by any Bentley manuals. The wiring diagrams might be valid, but a bit expensive to buy just to find out.

Yes that's right a 2.4 V6 which seems to be a made in small numbers model. For my purposes, its an ideal donkey with a bit of class! Problem is in recent months its become as stubborn as an ***!

The Haynes manual information suggests that there is a lot of commonality with the US 2.8 version. However the relevant circuit diagrams are for the 2. 8 VW version with a note saying Audi circuits are similar. So I'm effectively twice removed from exact specific to model information.

The search continues Captain, said Mr Spock.

    Cheers
