Hence me spending a not inconsiderable sum of money getting it professionally detailed including a ceramic coating!

It's here.... Arrived on Thursday!
Overall very happy with the car, incredibly smooth and quiet, not particularly quick but swift enough, great gearbox and nice interior.
Disappointing MMI graphically, my Mercedes was streets ahead and was a MY2012. Overall though, very happy!

Quick question - in the vehicle settings menu, is the folding mirrors and locking options available as a menu option? There's a software fault and it's missing on some vehicles?

No, I picked up on this from another thread. Is this a genuine 'fault' then not a 'tech pack only' issue?

I have the A6 Black Edition without any additional tech packs i.e. pretty much the standard build which arrived 2 weeks ago. Audi weren't initially aware of the issue but when I went to the garage in person, and got the technicians to look at the problem they said that the issue was software related which is impacting a number of vehicles and which would require a fix. I'm waiting to hear what happens next
