How did you get the car "factory reset", as my understanding is that dealers are not willing to do this once you have had the software update?

Had my 2.0 tdi go to audi for the update a couple of months ago. I noticed the drive is not as smooth as before and last week I got out of my car to find a strong smell of burning oil - only to find the oil level had dropped to a dangerous level! I rang my local indy and they had look into it, there was a small pipe that feeds the EGR valve - it had come loose and oil over a period of time had been escaping from it. I had no issues with my car before this and now its shafted my trust in Audi. I got a letter the next day saying those that had the fix done have a two year warranty on the EGR valve, fuel injection system and emissions system! They have recognised the 'fix' has caused other issues. I'll be getting rid asap

Got the letter back at beginning of May, contacted Audi to arrange work call out by AA as I don't have time to bring it in and it was a facility they offered to complete the update. They took my details and said someone would contact me within 6 weeks to arrange the call out and update. To date I've heard nothing. I don't think I'll bother with it now but if noone has contacted me about and they have a record that I have requested the update I wonder what way that leaves me if something goes wrong in the meantime!?

I wouldn't bother chasing them. I've had a read into it and your under no legal obligation to have the 'fix' and it will not effect your MOT result, basically your safer not having it done. Many people have been affected by it and now Audi/VW group are being forced to provide this 2 year warranty. However if you ever take your car into an Audi dealer I'd be very cautious they dont apply the 'fix' when its there - they have been known to do it in the past without the customer knowing!

Totally agree. Car working fine now, so why bother taking the risk of the software update if there is no legal requirement to do so.
