    Seems pretty quiet in here....

I'm thinking of getting an Eos 2008/2010 spec 2.0 tdi dsg.

Anything if note to look out for ? Will be first venture into drop top territory.

I understand roof seals can be dodgy, any way to check for sure? Or is it a case of putting a hosepipe to the car?

    TIA

A hosepipe is never a bad idea but a good inspection is a better option. Drop the top and look at all the seals. They should be smooth and flexible with no dryness or nicks and should be of uniform shape without pinching. Look all around for even the slightest sign of damp, especially in the boot or the front and rear footwells.

Make sure that the roof has no rattles or clunks, it should be absolutely noiseless and should go up and down smoothly without drama.

One thing though ........ just a personal preference but are you really sure you want a diesel drop top? The petrol version is just great with the roof down whereas the diesel is, well, a diesel. Other than that it's a great car; I preferred my wife's to my GTI.

the roof seals require a special lubricant applied every 6 months. dont use it or use something else and thats when they fail. i did price the job up once. even my local vw dealer said they wouldnt do it , about a grands worth of seals and the same in labour, maybe more. so take teflons advice and check them well. ask for proof of the correct lube being used as well.
