I thought it just deactivated lane assist or traffic assist so was shocked
not just sure if it's just traffic assist that put on the brakes or if adapt cruse does it also normally on adapt cruse it just deactivates the lane assist but never left it long enough to se what happen next

I didn't think our cars did this but there is something like this in the newer Audis as sisters A3 will bring car to a halt if it detects No driver motion or something

I remember a while back looking for a setting to turn up the volume for the lane assist disconnect as I didn't think it had this. No where near loud enough to wake you up from a short nap.

I Can't remember where I read it could of been on the Q8 or the new A8 as they use the A8 to test add and release a lot of new stuff first

but you wear a type of wrist watch and it checks your pulse and movement etc to make sure your ok or starting to fall asleep
then your get a warning and if you don't react the car will then stop will even know if your having a heart a tack etc good stuff hey?

I think that future is not too far off. When the car takes control and tells you it urgently needs to take you to hospital.

I had my first instance of the car hitting the brakes when reversing today. I nearly sh@t myself as i thought i'd hit the house for a second.

I reverse onto the drive every night in pretty much the same way, but tonight I was rushing and misjudged the angle, had to pull forward and then reversed back quite quickly in a straight line. About 2 yards from the house as I was about to hit the brakes the car did an emergency stop. Never had it do that and for a brief moment, I though I'd hit something! The slight ABS judder made me realise i hadn't!

Not intended, but it was a good test of the system and it really does save you from stupid moments!
