Audi a4 2.0tdi automatic gearbox

Hi can anyone help me please my gear box went in my audi a4 it had a 7 speed gearbox the one the the breakers gave me is a 6 speed gearbox I have phoned them and they don't have a 7speen can I get this 6 speed programmed to my car I'd drives but when in d it pulls off ok the it don't have much in it but you can put it in to manual mode and it works fine

Depending on which 8E your car is, there is a 5 or 6 speed automatic or a CVT stepless unit but these are single speed. Unfortunately the CVT's are often called 6 or 7 speed units but the 6 or 7 refers to the number of plates in the clutch pack. You can't mix and match these CVT gearbox's, in fact you often can't mix and match many manual boxes these days as the cars other ECU's will object, namely the engine ECU. You need to know which code box is in your car, GYJ is a possibility. The box you fit MUST be interchangeable.
