If you can find a site online that has the info and in a format supported by the MMI then I'll try it right now... just not sure where to look (online)

I read a post a while ago on importing speed camera locations into the mmi of an A4. I've lost the bookmark but they were using the database from pocketgps world. I think there's a small fee though.
Will definitely be doing this if it works!

It should work as it's clear in the manual to be able to import POIs and it's clear on the option for POI notification so in theory this should just work.

Hopefully the notification tone is not annoying. Mercedes do just one beep which is perfect.

If it's the same beep for if you choose to be alerted when near a petrol station then it's fine. It's a single beep

Sounds promising. Does it say what distance triggers the beep. I've been done twice ( at the same spot ) where a 60 goes to 30 and I didn't slow down quick enough. Not a built up area, so no schools or any real danger but they place one of those vans that can do you at 300m...

I knew the part about importing POI was somewhere. Weirdly the POI notification option is in the owners manual and the POI import is in the audi Connect manual. So as I thought I just need a POI database in the correct file format .csv for example and away we go. Then it will be interesting to see if it is then available to select in the notification section.

Try Pocket GPS World - SatNavs | GPS | Speed Cameras who have a file that is updated weekly for s small subscription.

I have used it on a Ranger Rover and a Volvo with no problem.

They also have a free app called CamerAlert to try.

So as a test I did a search for POI destinations and found a free database for LPG Petrol Stations in the UK. It was in CSV format, OV2, KML (Google Earth) etc formats. Note the file must be under 5MB in size

I found the OV2 file (for Garmin Devices) worked. I logged into MyAudi and added a personal POI. Uploaded the OV2 file and a 'bmp' image of a LPG icon for the icon (if that makes sense)

It uploaded as you can see below and I then hit "send to vehicle" and it said sent. I just need to go outside and see if it shows on the MMI in the Q7.

If it works, then the principle works well. The Audi Connect guide is a little out of date as the page for uploading the POI has moved on the Audi Connect site, but its definitely there

EDIT: I havent been to the car yet but the MyAudi site is confusing. It says transfer by SD card, yet has a "Send to Vehicle" option which I clicked on and it said sent. I clicked the Download Button next to it, thinking that is for the SD card but it just said "Sent to vehicle successfully" as well. lol

This lists the Audi RNS-E system which I thought was the previous gen? Lots of threads on various Audi forums on how to add to those cars but can't find the A4 thread JMB mentions
