OK so some of you have noticed that the speed camera icons are not shown if your map on the MMI or VC is zoomed out. I have my maps set to auto zoom and found when driving that I lose sight of the camera icons on the map at around the 1-1/4 mile level. So when driving on a motorway or dual lane A road the map auto zooms out and the cameras are gone. You do still get the Warning notification and the tone if enabled regardless of zoom level though.

So there is a way to get this back For some reason the POIs are set to only show up at a certain zoom level, so when in the AUDI data files not .csv there is a folder called categories.pc and in there is the part of the code to change the zoom level.

So add your POI in the MYAUDI special destinations part on your PC. Then instead of sending to car click download and save it to PC. Open the file structure and edit with a text editor the file categories.pc so that the zoom level is set to max=30.

Then just copy all the files on to an SD card / USB stick, making sure they are not in a sub-directory and insert in the car.

    Job done.

Hi Skippy, amended the file and uploaded the files via SD card this morning and it's worked a treat. If I zoom right out so that I can see the whole town, the speed cameras icons are all visible now.

Is the notification distance configured within these files too?

Actually found the distance alert to be fine after doing a longer run at the weekend. I must have past 5 mobile / Gatso locations and the distance warning was typically between 100 and 200 yards, so probably about the right balance between a valid warning and getting false alerts. It does seem like the warning distance increases with speed?

When on the M25 it gave me a warning 800 yards so plenty of time and others at 600 yards then the slower ones say 50MPH seem to be 100-200 yards

It would be logical that it adjusted the response depending upon the car speed, that way you would always have a warning the same x seconds before reaching the POI.
