So my pads need replacing and my Discs could probably do with replacing as well.
So upon searching to see wether i should stick with OE discs and pads i came across ceramic pads, never heard of them before.
I have 19inch RS6 wheels and they just get covered with brake dust after about a week, so thinking about ceramic for longer life and cleanliness .

Apparently the braking feel is a lot different than normal pads.
I am probably going to go with Brembo discs and ATE ceramic pads.

Just wondering does anybody have them on the A6 and how they got on with them or any reason i shouldn't bother.

    Cheers

Brembo with EBC Redstuff ceramic pads .

The ATE ceramics don't offer a performance advantage whereas Redstuff does as well as low dust .

Will that kind of set up out brake a standard setup, I'm assuming the brembo discs aren't ceramic. How much would it cost for this set-up?

I've been using Akebono pads on my profile car for years, with ss brake lines it makes an enormous difference to brake feel/fade and a huge difference to brake dust....they just won't give you that initial 'bite' of OEM.

Weirdly they are made in the UK but I have to buy them from the USA...Red stuff will do the same but will cost you a bit more....and you do want those red pad backs really!

Ok just when i thought i had my mind made up
    No worries with Ceramic then?

I was looking at EBC but there are too many complaints on the net about them so i think i will avoid.

Also I was looking at Akebono pads too but couldnt see any this side of the water, how long do they take to ship from the states?
All positive reviews on them everywhere.

And i changed my mind about the brembo discs since i posted this

I can get ATE discs here for a good bit cheaper than the Brembos, i think i will go with ATE all around, Discs, ceramic Pads and the Calipers on the A6 are ATE ? so a full house.

    Thanks for the replies.

Just the pads are ceramic. Discs are standard.
Pads are a bit more expensive but last longer apparently.
i presume you could just swap out pads, I'm only looking at discs because mine are worn.

what are people saying about the ebc pads then. i know people who do moan about them because you need to get some heat in them for them to work properly, but when they work they work well.

I find them no different cold than oe .

Redstuff have updated the formation and early reviews are poor.

I've got them on two cars front and rear and fronts on my fathers car so that's 20 individual pads without any disappointment whatever , for the road I just wouldn't use anything else .

I also know of satisfied owners of Audi B8 A4 3.0 tdi and RS3 .

I didn't read every detail about the EBC pads, just that every thread i was reading about them there were negative posts in them.

EBC pad material can come away from the backing plate. I've had this happen, but it was after some serious track use.
