    Hi All,

My car has a major oil leak and is now off the road. The cost to repair is too high, as I have been advised to also replace the turbo due to wear on the turbo bearings/ Although I did have the turbo replaced with a reconditioned turbo a few years ago. The car is now sitting on my drive and about to be SORN.

Wanted advice on what is the best way to get rid of the car. Go on eBay? Sell to a scrap dealer? We Buy Any Car would want a working car, so that is not an option. The car is overall in good condition for it's age (128k miles) has full Audi Service History and has generally been well looked after and maintained.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

First off, you dont inform us of where the oil leak is coming from. Regarding turbo, who has checked it and why was it checked? Noisy etc? You may then get some help.

    Engine is BKD

Oil feed pipe and connecting union are faulty and leaking. Because the oil feed pipe has been leaking for in excess of 1 month, advised by Mansfield Group to also replace turbo due to excessive wear on the turbo bearings.

so have they physically checked the turbo bearings to see if they are worn ? do you get any screeching noises from the turbo or any other signs of failure, other than being advised to replace it ? sounds like you need to get the oil leaks sorted out and just drive it as i doubt there is anything wrong. for a leak from the oil feed pipe to destroy the turbo you would have puddles of oil under the car..

Although no affect on how the car drives - major puddles of oil. Been advised not to drive, so have not used the vehicle since middle of March. Oil leak has been excessive, all over my parking space.

Thanks for all your responses but I am not looking for advice on how to resolve the mechanical issue with my A3. I am looking at best options to get rid of it. Should I put on eBay or should I let people just take what parts they need. Car is in good conditional overall.
