Ur quattro partial electrical failure

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has had this fault or has any idea what is going on with my car.

'85 ur Quattro - starts and runs but have lost the digital display (oil, alt. hazard etc. warning lights are working ok). Several other circuits also not working, including
front fog lights
rear fog light
rear demister
wipers

there could be others.

Side/dipped and main beam working as are the indicators.

Everything had been working fine - if it makes any difference I was working in the centre console area checking diff lock vacuum pipes.
All fuses checked, all relays pulled and refitted.

I'm a bit puzzled where to start.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
