    Hi all,

I want to replace my MMI unit to high version. I have all the parts I just need to overcome on component protection. Can anybody give me a guide how to?

    Thanks in advance,
    Pal

There are no hacks for CP that I know of, it will either be a dealer visit or find a 3rd party diagnostic tool that is capable of removing CP. Neither VCDS or VCP can remove CP, and ODIS requires an oline connection to VW gecko database, so you have to have a dealer username & password.

Thank you for the info. I have managed to sort out component protection other way by modifying a little EEPROM on pcb. I have got this tip from a friend. Now everything just work fine.
