One point I can make without identifying which diagram is correct is that the J317 relay is the “Terminal 30 voltage supply relay, on the onboard power supply control unit” and is powered by fuse 15 in the dash side fuse board, the OPS unit is under the dash and the relay is mounted on the front panel at position B4 marked KL30 and it powers the interior, rear centre reading, front reading, luggage and glove compartment lights.

The engine ECU is powered via fuse 13 from relay J322 at position R1, both in the under bonnet fuse box and it splits into three feeds going to the ECU large plug at pins 3, 5 and the relay J322 is commanded by the ECU from pin 49 of the same plug. This feed line is called line 87 and it also feeds items such as the N75 valve and the lambda sensor heaters. The ECU is triggered by the line 50 relay which is called J682 and it is at position D2 under the dash below the onboard supply unit and it’s feed to the ECU goes through fuse 1 in the dash side fuse board and to the ECU, it is commanded by the onboard supply unit on instruction from the steering column ECU so I think it is J682 you are looking at.

It was made on 5/11/2007 so it SHOULD be the latter wiring diagram but it is only 5 days into the change point.

    Hi!

    I got a similar problem.
My Passat, 2012 2,0 tdi CFFB manual with start/stop, engine shuts down for time to time, ABS, ESP and engine warninglights is on.
When reading the error codes it is only one 01314 no communication with ECU. Could be that ECU is missing power perhaps.......

Any tip on trouble shooting this?
Greatful for all help I can get for this issue

Anyone having electronic scheme for this one?

    Thanks in advance!

Contrary to what almost everyone thinks ABS stands for it is a rare example of a German language car technology acronym being widely adopted, mainly because it can be misinterpreted and mean the same thing, it actually stands for AntiBlockierSystem.

Sorry, got interrupted for some household DIY interaction. The CAN BUS unit is susceptible to water damage but it is probaly the ABS ECU, can you fault code scan it?

Yes with help from a friend.
The error code is 01314 No communication with ECU.

Problem is also that this issue is intermintent.
Right now the car is working fine.
    It has happened 2 times.
First time I could start again after a few seconds and drove for 2-3 days.
Second time it stopped I could restart but dead again after couple of 100 meters. Started few times more but not for more that 50-100 meters.
Had to tow it back home. When finilay home it startaed again.
Don`t dare to use the car as it is now.

My amateur guess is that the ECU has no power when this happens. What do you think Crasher
