Is someone able to confirm my assumptions?

The LED sidelights in the outer nearside light have stopped working. The brake light and indicator are still operative. I have read / researched other threads and have taken the lens out to check it: I cannot see any obvious signs of corrosion.

There are no warning lights on dash display to indicate failure of the LEDs.....not sure why.

Am I correct in assuming that the side light LEDs have failed in some way, possibly the circuit board?

Am I correct in assuming that the simplest way to resolve this is to purchase a whole new light unit?

For the record, I am based in Pembroke

    Hi,
The problem is a common one on these light units, and is with the flex circuit board that the LEDs are attached to inside the unit. There are two SMD resistors (47 ohm) that break away from the flexi over time.
You'll need to open the light unit up (with a heat gun if you're lucky, or cut it open with a Dremel and seal it back up after with a hot glue gun.), remove the flex circuit and resolder the tiny resistors, or solder in some regular ones.
There is a video on Youtube showing the procedure: Audi A6 C6 LED naprawa,Rückleuchte Rear lamp brake light LED light repair How to replace - YouTube.
I did mine myself, but I know a chap that will do them for£35 each, plus postage.

Thanks for the info......I fear that this is my problem. I did take the light unit out and put it back, when it started to work ok but I noticed yesterday that the side lights are again not working.

My soldering skills are poor so will probably end up purchasing new light unit in that case.
