    Need help / advice please.
I've had a VW CC 2012 2.0 TDi GT for 4 weeks now. Seemed fine on the test drive at the garage / town I bought it in. Got it home to Cornwall and am finding the road noise horrendous! The garage I bought it from told me to take it to a Halfords Autocentre for review. They came out for a test drive and agreed road noise was excessive. They looked at the tyres and said all 4 had slight wear to edges which was causing the noise. The garage I bought the car from were informed and they agreed to replace all 4 tyres with mid range Falkens. This was done but the noise is no better.

I'm now lost as to what to do next. I should get 4 wheel alignment done I think but I doubt this alone is the source of the noise. The old set of tyres were only very slightly worn to the edges.

It seems to me that the CC 18" wheels suffer on poor road surfaces and we have a lot of these in Cornwall. Over a new sections of tarmac road the car is very quiet which means it isn't a wheel bearing or similar issue.......

I'd like to hear from people with CC's and whether this is a characteristic of the CC please?

I'm thinking of asking VW for a test drive in a new CC to see if they are the same. I'm really close to just part ex'ing the car for a Golf as I can't live with this noise. I'm torn because otherwise the car is excellent and I love it!

I'd be really grateful for some feedback on peoples CC's and road noise please. Many thanks

I have a 2013 CC and I'm experiencing (and have since it was new) a lot of road noise coming from the rear on bad roads, but I think the front suspension is doing a better job. Softer tires makes it better, but doesn't remove it. To me it sounds like something else (not the tires) is making the noise. Do you have an audio recording of the sounds?

Although a 2010 model i still have the 18" Interlagos fitted and must admit never really noticed any specific road noise from the tyres.

On my old 170 Passat i had what i thought was knackered wheel bearing on the back and that actually turned out to be the tires. I had one bearing replaced before i sold the car to my brother in law who then had it checked out and once the tires were replaced then happy days no more noise.

I'm currently running Hankooks on my CC and must say they are not a bad tire.
If it ain't broke leave it alone!!!
