Bit short of time at the moment so called my garage for a quote to paint my calipers and also replace my TTS front grille for an RS one. Price was £50 a corner and £125 for the grille!!

OK, so I guess I'm gonna have to make time to do it myself after all. So my question is, how exactly do I jack up the front of the car with one hydraulic car jack and two axel stands? I've read all the previous threads and thought this would be a no-brainer, but after looking into it I'm still none the wiser! I intend to get the two front wheels off, remove the bumper, prep and paint the calipers, fit the grille, fit new wheels and spacers, and then drop the car down and do the rear wheels. I've got the TT hockey puck jack pad and can lift one corner OK, but once lifted the only place to puttee axel stand is taken, so what next? On my golf there is a fairly wide area so the axel stand can go right next to the jack stand. On the TT I'm a bit less sure. Anyone done this?
