    Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has tried any products for removing brake fallout.

My A5 coupe has been well looked after and brake callipers recently refurbished but the disk cover shields (sat behind the disks)
tend to suffer quite badly with iron deposit build up and i wonder if anyone has tried anything effective for removing it.

My usual wheel cleaning chemicals do a good job in keeping my 20" wheels free from iron deposits
using sonax extreme wheel cleaner, and occasionally valet pro dragons breath, but neither of these seem to be effective
in removing iron deposits from the disk cover sheilds.

I've also tried brake cleaner using an old microfibre, but doesn't appear to be cutting it...

Is it possible to restore to a good condition without the need for repainting?

    Thanks

I think the dust shields aren't treated/coated like the wheels so it's more likely it surface corrosion rather tar and iron spotting.
Short of taken them off and using a wire brush to clean then paint they are always going to look crappy.
Remember the extreme heat around that area so even if you remove and paint it will eventually get bad again.
