    Hello everyone
New to the forum and looking for some advice (please excuse any first timer mistakes)

    I'm running a 2013 A5 Coupe Black Edition 2.0 TDI. 177
Just covered 60k and advised by Audi back in October that my front pads were 70% worn.
Not covering a great deal of miles at the moment so the warning light just briefly came on February 16 after around another 4k of miles covered
(So i'm guessing they were about right)

Had a quote from Audi today to replace front pads with OEM and just a little bit frustrated that because my car is less than 3 years old the price is £208 +vat
but if it were over 3 years old the price would be £140

Something to do with their fixed price servicing tariff - Seems ludicrous to me!!! Rant over..

Anyway, i've had quotes from a couple of reputable garages in the Huddersfield area to replace the front pads with either Mintex, Pagid, or Brembo replacements
and hence to say the price difference is staggering at £80 including vat. (or thereabouts)

For that price i could change all around, not that the rears really need them yet, but i was quite astounded.

I've always returned to the main dealer for all of my servicing needs, and probably will do so for major service intervals but
just wondered if anyone has any experiences with OEM vs aftermarket / performance vs price.

I guess you inevitably get what you pay for but the price difference certainly makes it worth considering.

Happy to take a punt on the aftermarkets but last thing i want is to for them to start squaring like a B**tard after a few miles covered, not that they should is fitted correctly.

Many Thanks, look forward to your feedback...

I take it you wouldnt tackle the job yourself? I wouldnt pay Audi that price for what is (to the dealer) a half hour job. Pagid pads are fine and fitted by an independent garage will be kinder to your wallet.
