Hi,
I have a 54 plate TDI 130 Highline with 5sp auto. Owned the car from 15 miles, now got 89k on the clock. Failed its MOT Feb last year as the rear passenger door doesn't unlock, and been told its a sh!t to get to. Anyway, found a VAG specialist in Loughborough who's quoted £220 to do the job. I had disconnected the battery in June to save it.

Reconnected it today, and the voltage had dropped, showed 11.4 on voltmeter, so the electrics came on, but the car didn't start until I jumped it from one of my other cars. Engine ran perfectly, started in 10 seconds, no smoke etc. Left it running for an hour or so on tick-over and it stopped and started on its own after that (battery back at 13.69v).

Want to get it back on the road, and then either sell or px it for a small manual g'box car (eldest is 17 next week).

Problem(s) now are: EGR Warning appears on the display (take it to an emissions workshop), various other lights on. But.. the Auto selector message at the bottom of the Dash isn't showing.

I put the car in to D and it just slams forward and stalls - like a learner taking their foot off the clutch on tick over. Put it into reverse and the same. Put it into N and I can push the car backwards and forwards, so I know the box is releasing from Park.

I've read articles about resetting the transmission computer by holding down the throttle for 10 secs. Is this worth a try? I'm going to spend time tomorrow looking at this if its not raining/snowing!

Any ideas/help appreciated?
