I don't think it will make your heater work better.

    Hi,

Please note that there is one more thermostat, I have similar problem with my 2.0 TDIe 100kw. I have ordered this small one to see if it will help. I will let you know.

Part number is 1K0 121 113 A, this is small thermostat which is on return hose from EGR cooler to 4/2 way valve with main thermostat and going directly to engine.

I have notice that when engine does not have any load coolant temp is going down.

We will see as soon as I remove this small thermostat is it good or not.

I have found plenty BMW with this problem on site.

Your heater is like another rad. if you are taking heat out of it your engine temp will go down.
The engine doesn't make the heat on idle that it makes when driving, + it was cold yesterday.

Maybe is not the problem, maybe it is like that during colder weather (as many forum members suggested). I have notice that as soon as ambient temperature is around 10 deg C or above, everything is ok and coolant temperature is steady on 90. Only that I am new to the car and my previous A4 did not have such behavior.

Anyhow, I have ordered this small (EGR) thermostat.

I will let you know what happen as soon as I replace it.

    Cheers
