Only bought my new Superb on Sunday and today, whilst driving down a narrow B road I had my wing mirror clobbered by a foreign lorry.
It was driving half on my side of the road, and I had to come nearly to a stop and drive pretty much into the bank to avoid it. It still drove past at what must have been 40mph and hit my mirror, breaking the cover, knocking the glass out (which smashed) which then crashed into the door of my car, scuffing the paint.
So angry it's not even funny, as by the time I had found a spot to pull over to reattach the glass to stop it banging against the door, turn around to try and get the number plate, or company, the lorry had gone...
Anyone have any idea how much a replacement glass, cover and LED assembly would be?
Not going through insurance, as my excess would outweigh the cost, plus my premium would increase as a result.

    Holy moley! £134?
Is it a good one? I've been recommended a decent one by a friend from Halfords and it's £70... Just wondering what the difference in price brings. Am definitely getting one now, especially with my long commutes now. Just a shame it's a case of 'locking the door after the horse has bolted'.

i got mine from halfords, with the install kit etcc,,, ready to roll, about 160 iirc. very good piece of kit. plug it into your computer and its like watching tv the quality is that good, great nightvision, yeah, a good all round camera, but you do get what you pay for. no point if its not 1080 and you cannot read a number plate.
there is aloso something about some not being able to be used in court. i know ours can, not sure what the rules are, maybe it has to record sound...

Ok that's good to know. I want one that is good quality and not too big.
This is the one that I was recommended.

Just quickly, rather than coughing up £400 for a new mirror *gulp*, plus spraying it the right colour, I'm looking into salvage parts.
There's one being broken on eBay that's the right colour, but I think it's an S model. Can anyone confirm whether this would have the electric folding, adjusting, heated and auto tinting function that the Elegance has?
