    Hi everyone,

Before i spunk £400+ on decent coilovers i'm going to get some lowering springs. But what brands are good for springs, under £100?

Anyone with a 8l - Do you need to roll your wheel arches for clearance?

    Audi A3 8L, 1.9tdi, 130bhp, 2001.

The current shocks on that car, unless they've been replaced, are approaching 15 years old. My advice (and it's only advice) would be to spend a bit of money on shocks and springs or coilovers.

Springs can be had for cheap, but you get what you pay for.

What wheels are you trying to fit that makes you think you may need to be arch rolling?

Yeah that's what I've been told about springs, just testing the water with them really. 18" probably around 8" wide, already stock are pretty close to springs.

The ET of the wheel comes into play if you're already close to the springs.

Lowering won't move the wheels though (unless you roger the camber by going lower than the axle, aircooled Beetle style) so you should be ok.

And when you are going about 350 miles each week, it's important the quality's in top. :-)

You will not need to change your dampers if you are using a quality set of springs.
