Hi, im Nat from Leyland, Lancashire and just before Christmas I treated myself to a nice little 1990 Audi 80 2.0e

Its not perfect, but its nothing a little bit of TLC wont fix

I'm no stranger to retro VAG material having owned everything from a 60's Beetle, an early bay, Mk1/2/3 Golfs, Mk2 Jetta, B3 & a B4 Passat, Sharan (Not really retro but hey...) and a few BMW's to satisfy the want for something rwd

(Copy and pasted from another forum so bits might not make sense or have already been addressed)

Windscreens delaminating around the edge, its not leaking in but it does look a little unsightly.
Theres water getting into the boot, possibly a failed seal on a tail light Fixed
Windscreen wipers sweep really slow, linkages may need greasing or it might just be the blades
    N/S/F window doesn't work
and then theres the paintwork... you'd have been forgiven to think it was matt white  h34r:  Fixed haha

Nothing a night with a clay bar, mirror glaze 105 and ultimate compound (and a few ciders) couldn't handle though

I've no longer got a machine polisher so it was all done by hand. I woke up this morning with a dead arm haha

I've no real plans for it at the minute, I'll be looking to change the wheels and tickling it with the lowering stick, a set of new number plates (Maybe some slightly naughty German font ones) but other than that i'll be keeping it as tidy as possible. It wont be getting ruined that's for sure x

    Arty farty Audi shizzle

and the source of the swimming pool

Been having a couple of little running niggles already, (Day after picking it up )

Nothing drastic, just starting from colds been a pain in the a*se. It'll take a few turns to fire up but cut out after a few seconds, on the second or third attempt it start but you have to let it idle for a bit to warm up before pressing the accelerator otherwise it'll cut out.

I've taken off the Cold start valve (5th injector) and it looks to be clean so next in line to check is the thermo time switch. Ordered one and went down to pick it up on Christmas eve only to have been sent an ISV Temp sensor (Idle Stabiliser Valve) Obviously with it being Christmas I had to wait a few days... only to have been sent what I now know to be the Engine temp sensor... Picked up a new Thermo time switch yesterday, fitted it last night and touch wood the new Thermo sensors fixed the cold start issue I know it wasn't very cold this morning but it fired up first time and sat at just over 1000k dropping down once warm Would still expect it to sit at a higher rpm on choke tho or doe's it just chuck more fuel in to compensate?

    ....few crappy photos B)

Told you they were crappy  Scrubs up well tho
