    Hello,

Recently my friend told me he's planning on getting ceramic pro 9h coating on his car.
Question: do you guys have any experience with that on A6? Any approx costs?

I would have thought asking your friend what it's costing him would give the best indication of price.

VW/Audi group paint is generally recognised as 'hard' so it responds well to polishing anyway. I don't see the point of these coatings unless you're going to get your car washed weekly with a bucket of scratch and even then, an annual polish and protect from a good detailer will stand you in better stead.

Personally, I'd spend your money on something else.

Thing is, he's doing that in a different country so can't really quote him for a price.

Then you need to get hold of the U.K. Agent and get them to quote, no?

If it's anything like the existing ceramic finishes on the market then depending on how old your car is, it may not be worth bothering. If your car is new, then potentially you're looking at £1000 to prep the car and apply the coating.

If your car isn't new then it'll be whatever the cost of the coating and application is, plus whatever paint rectification the detailer reckons is required. Mine said I'd have to fill all the stone chips and then polish the car extensively, probably removing as much as a quarter of the existing clearcoat.

Your detailer led may say something different, but it won't be cheap.
