Hi, I have an A6 2006 2.0 TDI and some months ago broke the front bumper and removed it (its beyond Repair) ready to get another...now have. Unfortunately the car sat there until now and when i came to move it i found that i cannot get into it using key fob. I have tried the key in the door and that won't do it either....Any thoughts on how I might access and charge the battery...Btw the battery was new in June .

    Thankyou.

You could connect a charger to the starter connections, but I think the manual key should should operate, maybe persevere with manual key first.

Could U not open the bootlid with key then charge battery from there?
Saying that the key should open the door manually anyway

Thank you. I have tried the manual key in the door by holding still and turning...but nothing occurs.
I did think that i could open the bonnet (as the front bumper in removed) and connect the +pos and - neg connections to a charger. But the bonnet is locked.

How would i get to the starter connections i thought they would be too deep in the engine bay and only accessed from underneath?

Sorry it is locked. I pulled the lever and it doesn't allow it to open.

Yes it would be from underneath. The starter motor is probably low down on drivers side, If you do decide to connect at this point ensure neutral is selected and handbrake is fully applied. The tray would need to be removed if not already done.
