Hi all, after a bit of advice, have searched the forum and not found a solution.

I bought my A3 with Symphony headunit fitted, and decided to upgrade to the RNS-E (used unit bought on Ebay).

On the Symphony unit the standard AUX input under the armrest works fine, however, I cannot get any sound from the Aux input when using the RNS-E unit.

The Aux option on the RNS selects fine, I just cant get any sound out of it.

I suspect that it may need to be coded with VCDS or something similar, but I am not 100% sure that an adjustment to the wiring may be needed.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance.

Wiring is different on the RNS-E, on the back of the RNS-E you will see an unused connector the pins go into there. Search AUX retrofit on the RNS-E there have been plenty of write-ups on how to do this.
