    Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone has found a way to stop the MMI screen opening and closing every time you start and stop the engine.

The reason I ask is that I think all this opening and closing when I back out of the garage, get out to close garage door and then restart is putting unnecessary wear on the mechanism.

I'd like for it to stay closed until I press the button on the dash to open it when needed. (Or open when I engage reverse as I have the reversing camera)

It's the 3G+ with tech pack high.

    Thanks

    John

It's not automatic but if you turn the radio off (by holding down the volume button) the screen retracts and stays hidden when you next start the car, only popping up when needed, e.g. for reversing camera. Obviously that means no radio or media though!
