    Hi,

I've got some unusual noises that occur on full lock, loud groaning sound that is different to the ps pump under load.

Fluid was at minimum so topped up but no improvement.

Tried to siphon out old stuff which is looking black but filter mesh is blocking my pipe.

Tried search but can't find any instructions, and not found anything of Web/tube.

My electronic manual has instructions for bleeder the ps fluid but it's not quite what I want.

Which I thought would be like engine coolant: drain it out, flush, top up and remove trapped air. Am worried about damaging ps pump.

    Any advice or links please?

    Car is A6 C6 2l TFSI.

    Hi Roy,

Thanks, that's the similar instructions as from the electronic manual.

So I presume by filling up the reservoir completely is why you can use a siphon (turkey baster).

And after repeated lock to lock, the ps system is purged with new pas fluid, and you suck out the old pas fluid?

    Correct.

My son works in a repair shop and he just unscrews the lowest tube on the steering rack to empty all of the fluid, then refills.
But he has the use of all the professional equipment,
    I don't.
