    Hey,

So I recently moved from a C6 to a B7 and was missing the cruise control from the previous one so I decided to retrofit.
Went through all the hassle, got the tools, installed it and the clutch switch wasn't working.
Changed the clutch switch today and it is still not working!!!!!

    Really driving me crazy!
All the values change when I press the brakes, clutch, turn the cruise on/off, press the buttons and move it up and down. - checked
The value in steering wheel is correct - checked
Went in Engine and the value is 00000? (Not saving)

Re-did the coding, control module accepted it:

    When I went back though:

This is really driving me nuts!!!

Before this, I also did a scan of the codes and cleared them all.

There was nothing major (I think?)

Cleared them all, took it for a spin and went back in Steering wheel, but there was no error anymore.

The only thing I could think of is:
Followed this guy's guide and changed 46 (Central convenience) to 11852. No errors there I see. Also removed the seatbelt chime using the same guide.
    B6/B7 S4 DIY: VAG-COM Modification Walk Through
The only strange thing to the car I noticed is that when I open the driver's door, it shows as the passenger. Same applies to the passenger door which shows as driver's door. Think it's because I should have added +00218 for RHD

Does anyone have any idea on how to make this CC work?

P.S. Found this other guide that says further changes are needed to ABS, Steering Sensor etc.

Can anyone please help? I am leaving Thursday to Glasgow from Birmingham and really wanted to have this completed

    Any help is much appreciated!
    Oh and I've got the 2.0tdi 170 manual s-line

The engine ECU is coded for cruise, you can tell this by the letter G in the component description which stands for Geschwindigkeitsregelung. You can see the switch operations in engine measuring blocks, around group 66 if I remember correctly? Can you see the binary bit change for both the brake pedal switches and the clutch switch? They should read 1 with the pedal down and 0 with it up.

    Hi Crasher,

    Thanks for your reply

They do - checked them all there.
So it's the 6th group where you can see the cruise control module with all the 1's and 0's. They all change when I move the CC.
The only issue I used to have was about the clutch switch. Changed that now and it's all good in the sense that the values change when I press/depress the clutch.

I am worried about the fact that the controller accepts the code, but when I go back it disappears?!

What, the "G" in "component" is not there when you go back?

    Hey,

I see in the screenshots that it stays there, but the code reverts to 0000 instead of 11463.

Moreover, the cruise control does not want to work at all

Anyone has a clue what should I do next? Clearly the stalk works, new clutch switch is in. Did the coding engine - 11463 (doesn't save) and steering wheel changed the 2nd to last digit to 4.
I see this guide says you need to do more: A4 Cruise.pdf - Google Drive

But I'm not sure that's relevant or not....

Any help is much appreciated! (Getting ready for Glasgow drive now).

The coding value 11463 does not remain in the box when you return, the indication that it is activated is the letter "G" in the component box, if you enter the deactivation code, the "G" will disappear. Which retro fit kit did you use?

I was actually thinking earlier this might be the case...

    I have used:
    !By6oSzwEGk~$(KGrHqEOKisEwO-KRqMWBMTwFihNrQ~~_35.JPG

Looked around on forums and I can see that other owners have this one:

    kufatec-GRA-Tempomat-Komplett-Set-Audi-A4-8K-35720_b_0.JPG

If this was the case and I don't have the right one, shouldn't it not work when I access the group 06?

Lets go back to the beginning. You have a 2005>2008 8E with a BRD engine. Which stalk did you install, 8E0 054 690? From what I can see, you have the wrong steering column control module.

    Hi Crasher,

Thanks for taking the time to help me out - beer's on me.

So I checked now and it's a BRD engine, the 170 hp version.
The stalk that I bought has the code: 4E0953521

Have my worst fears come true and i've bought the wrong stalk?

    Regards,
    Big.B

The stalk has chnaged part number to 4E0 953 521 B but what you have fitted is fine. I am a bit confused about the steering column controller being 8E0 953 549 Q which is only used on cars up to 2005 and together with a different column stalk, odd, ETKA says it should be 8E0 953 549 R and that the Q was dropped 10/2004. If the switch inputs can be seen in measuring blocks of the steering column controller and in th engine, I am a bit stuck.
