As the title says I have noticed something strange on or in the winscreen. The car is now a couple on months old and fogged up for the first time the other day. I noticed circles appearing all over the screen about 4 or 5" diameter and in the middle some numbers appeared. To me it looks like where the suction cups were used in manufacturing and where a label was perhaps once on the glass. So I used glass cleaner inside and out but no effect. They came back again today?
anyone experienced this before and know what it is?

I would like to know the answer to this - I have the same. My thoughts were as per yours, but I now have 12,000 miles on the clock and have cleaned the screen both inside and out and it hasn't gone away. I have added it to my list to take up with the dealer when it goes in.

Noticed this on my new fl as well.
It was there on day 1 and I used a glass polish to clear it and didn't see it till last night. It's definitely inside not outside.

Just googled it. from another forum:
Hi all this has been brought to vw attention a while ago and they supply a specific cleaning agent made for the job by vw i think if u go into ur local dealer they should be able to help if not get them to check elsa for tpi announcements
Other people have posted saying it cannot be removed. Some think it's on the laminate, inside the glass.

I get the circles on the side windows (one each side) and twice noticed the transport sticker info (vin and spec etc.) in the middle of the windscreen.

I use Windolene on the glass all the time and occasionally use Autoglym glass polish inside and out, but they still appear when the glass mists up. I guess the pressure/surface of the sucker and sticker adhesive is enough to (permanently?) alter the surface very slightly during assembly

Didn’t really bother me until now so I might try some isopropyl alcohol on it.

Ha! I'd always assumed that this was left over from the gubbins used to repair a stone chip that I had done within first 2 weeks of owning the car...

I've got the same, I've tried vinegar, screen cleaner and a few other things and it doesn't go away. I've now got a dehumidifier bag in the car and it doesn't steam up anymore

The circles are from the. Suction cups used to hold the glass when being fitted at the factory. The numbers come from the build sheet stuck to the glass, if you look carefully you will see things data such as the chassis number. Had the same issue on my previous c6 and c7. Nothing seems to permanently shift it
