    Hi guys.

To cut a long story short, I had 1/4 tank of Diesel and put in £30 petrol in without realising. I drove about 20 miles and it started to judder.
I got towed into a garage, they drained the fuel, changed the filter and blew out the pipes etc. Test drove fine.
On my way home the heater coil light flashed and the car stalled. Wouldn't start. Called the garage, they came out and tried to start and eventually it did. However, on route back to the garage it stalled again and wouldn't start. Left for 5 minutes and eventually it would start.
The only fault code is 00135 I think, which is low fuel pressure.

Any ideas what problem this could be? Car runs perfect when it starts until it stalls.

    Please help.

It's the common rail. Low pressure pump in tank, high pressure on engine. Checked fuel to filter, that's fine. Supply to high pressure pump also fine. They, not me, slacked the union on injector one and cranked the car. Apparently on a dribble was coming out. This point toward a pump issue?

common rails do not like pertol one bit. the pump can instantly wear causing swarfe which can then find its way into the injectors, and also into the return and block up the intank pump. this is the downside of a common rail engine.

    Thought as much.

Can't see any swarf inside the filter housing or anything like that though. Car will no longer start at all now.

What's the simplest way of checking the pump etc?

    Many thanks

swarfe can be microscopic. my suggested route would be to remove the pump and injectors and take them to a diesel specialist. i use either a place in swansea or post it to diesel bob, and get an inspection done. if its worn as i suspect, get it all rebuilt, remove and clean the fuel tank and pump, clean out all the fuel lines and filter housing, put it all back together and hope you havn't missed anything. also remove and clean out the common rail and all pipes, or send it off as well for pro cleaning.

Thanks for the recommendations. Will proceed with removing them and getting the items checked. Thanks for the advice.

no probs, a job like this is one that i dread coming into the workshop. a pd engine can take 25 % petrol without problem.. i hate common rails though, just too finicky..
