Have you set the cable adjusters up with the box selector locked in place with the setting pin (adjacent to the reversing light switch) and the gear leaver locked with a 5-mm drill bit?

    Hi
Quick update, carried out gear selector cable adjustment, I can now see a little area on the cable so I can confirm adjustment has been made.
When selector gear's 1 to 6 there is a nice positive action from the gear lever followed by a nice positive snick sound from the gear box.
How ever when selecting reverse there is positive action from the gear lever, but there is NO positive snick sound from the gear box.

The car will move reverse, but if you go on / off the throttle or the clutch peddle the gear box will drop out of reverse.
I am starting to wonder if when the rivet failed and I lost 1 and 2 gears the piece that fell down through the gear box may have caused slight damage to the reverse gear selector fork or the part that engages with the selector tower?
Any one spread any light on this please
    Thanks

It seems beyond doubt that you are going to have to pull it apart again. This is why I give my gearbox rebuilds to a professional gearbox re-manufacturing company, if it goes wrong (rare but **** happens) I just throw the complete car at them.

    Hi All,

I hope you had a Merry Xmas

I have been offered a DQB gearbox for the TT (This is the correct gearbox code)

But it is offered for a Coupe NOT a Roadster, would this be correct has both models have the same gearbox - DQB?

    Your confused

A DQB is a DQB whether it came out of a Coupe, Roadster or an S3 and the FMN, JMU and FZL are also the same.

Brilliant thanks for the clarification Crasher

So for future reference as long as I replace same code box with the same code it does not matter which model it came from?

    Wider choice better deal, maybe

Almost, in certain cases (no pun intended) there are build date variations that can require a little component swapping. With the DQB there can be some gear shift connection variations that just require parts swapping.
