I've noticed a deep drone noise / vibration coming from the front of my A3 when passing through the 2200-2500rpm range. It's especially noticeable in 6th gear, probably because the engine is working harder.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, GMC

engine mount, dog mount, airfilter resonating, timing belt, clutch, dmf, alternator pulley or belt, the list is endless, so many things to check and its impossible to do it from your very brief description.
Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

Cheers for that. It's still under warranty and is booked in next week for its service, so will ask them to check it out. Was just trying to get an idea of the issue beforehand.

Add to that the rear propshaft doughnut for quattros. After about 10 years the rubber hardens and you get a vibration when accelerating briskly, usually possible to drive through it, kind of as you explain. Audi take over £300 for these but they can be acquired outside the dealer network for less.
