    Hi,

I'm having trouble with a 4f0 051 510 ab usb AMI cable on my 13 A5 Sportsback. I couldn't find a compatibility tool online to check before purchasing on flea bay and took a punt based on the sellers claims that it would work on a host of models.

Basically looking to connect both Android (Galaxy S5) and iOS (iPhone 6) handsets to play music through the radio but when I connect the cable to either handset it's saying that they are not supported.

Is there a workaround or do I need to purchase a different cable.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

I should add its a concert radio. The car came with the old style iPod cable......I presume I could pick up a third party converter for that to change it to a litening bolt connection but was hoping to play music on the Android phone as well.

The USB connection won't work on the iPhone. As you say, you need to buy the Apple adaptor and attach that to the iPhone AMI cable to connect your iPhone 6 to it. The newer AMI cables with the smaller lightning connections won't work, well at least the didn't on my 09 A5.

Sorry not sure about connecting Android phones using the usb cable.

EDIT: Sorry just saw your A5 is 13 plate, so the newer iPhone AMI cable should work fine. Go into an Audi dealer and ask to try their various AMI cables for it. They are colour coded so check which one is right. Although its more expensive from a dealer, its worth it as a lot of the eBay ones can cause issues.
